Introduction to Lord Vishwakarma
Vishwakarma is not just a name, but a symbol of action and creation, which is mentioned in literature, Vedas, Shastras, Puranas, Upanishads, and other religious texts. Virat Vishwakarma is mentioned from the very beginning of creation. He is unborn, the beginning, the end, and the form of Sachchidananda, and Vishwakarma is the Virat form. Religious texts reveal that the creation of the universe was done by Virat Vishwakarma. After the deluge, Virat Vishwakarma created the universe again and appeared as God. The Vishwa Brahma Purana mentions:
Neither Brahma nor Vishnu, nor Rudra nor any god.
One each Bhavedvishwakarma Vishwabhi Devta.
That is, there was neither Brahma, nor Vishnu, nor Rudra (Shiva), nor any other deity. At the time of that all-void cataclysm, there was only one Supreme Being, Vishwakarma, the revered deity of all, who had absorbed the entire universe within himself. Vishwakarma is depicted as the eternal, infinite, and eternal form of God.
Vishwakarma is mentioned even before the asexual creation, and he is considered the creator of the universe. Vishwakarma is also mentioned in the Vedas. Vishwakarma is also considered a seer of Vedic mantras, a sage, and a deity. Lord Vishwakarma created the universe from the five elements of fire, water, air, earth, and sky.
Om Yo Na: Father Janita Yo Vidhaata Dhamani Veda Bhuvanani Vishwa.
Vo Devanaam Naam Dhaek Evathasamprasnam Bhuvanayantanya.
That is, O humans, the one who nourishes us and who sustains everyone, who gives everyone the fruits of their deeds, is the knower of all the worlds and their birthplaces, he names everyone with his knowledge, he is the only Brahma, that is Vishwakarma, that great Lord receives all the things of the world. He nourishes everyone like a father and creates everyone with knowledge.
Lord Vishwakarma, Adi Narayana, Adi Dev, Supreme Father, Supreme Soul, etc. are infinite, unborn, who are beyond birth and death. Nevertheless, there have been many Vishwakarmas whose stories we hear, among them the most benevolent was Vasuputra Vishwakarma, whose birth we believe to be on Magh Shukla Trayodashi.
Vishweshvaragya Tvashtrolokanam Hitakamyaya.
Maghamase Ritepakshe Trayodshyam, auspicious days.
Lord Vishwakarma had five sons, Manu, Maya, Tvashta, Shilpi, Devajna or Vishvagna, who were the originators of crafts.

Shilpi was married to Karuna, the daughter of Maharishi Bhrigu. Devagya was married to Chandrika, the daughter of Maharishi Jaimini.
Vishwakarma's daughter Sanjna is said to have married Surya, from whose form Sanjna two sons named Ashwani Kumar were born who became famous as Dev Vaidya and from his form Chaya two sons named Yama, Yami and Shani were born. Riddhi Siddhi were married to Parvati's son Ganesh, from whom children named Kshema Labh were born.
The Vishwakarma clan is considered the most superior. Those of the Vishwakarma clan are religious scholars and possess knowledge of the Vedas. They are well-versed in oceanography, mathematics, astrology, geography, and astronomy. In the Shilpa Shastra, it is stated that those of the Vishwakarma clan are Brahmins by birth:
Vishwakarma Kulejata Garbha Brahmin Nishyatha.
Shudratvam nasti tadvanshe brahminya vishwakarmanah.
The Vishwakarma clan is supremely revered. It is stated in the Shilpa Shastra that if people from many castes are sitting together, the sculptor should be the first to bow down.

That is, I respectfully salute the Brahmin craftsmen and chariot makers who perform meticulous work. The Vishwakarma clan has earned recognition not only in various regions of the country but also globally for their abilities.
Introduction – Founder Late Shri Rameshwar Soni Panchal
There should be no difference between the words and actions of a true human being. Shri Rameshwar Soni Panchal, who believed that a person should internalize what he expects from others, was born in the village of Bhagora, Indore district, Madhya Pradesh, on May 8, 1928, into a Lohar (Panchal) family to Shri Ganpat Soni and Smt. Kaveri Bai. During his student days, he founded the Shri Sharda Bal Mandal in Rau, through which he worked to awaken the people by singing national and patriotic songs. In 1946, at the age of 18, he joined the Indian National Congress, serving the people in various positions, from public servant to General Secretary, and for seven years, holding important positions such as Madhya Pradesh Congress representative and AICC delegate.
After his father's death at the age of 22, he continued to fulfill his family responsibilities while also serving his community. In 1972, he founded the Madhya Pradesh Panchal Samaj and became its president. He worked to organize the community in the state. He also launched social awareness campaigns in other states and formed state committees. Taking this campaign forward, he formed the All India Vishwakarma Panchal Mahasabha in 1984 and registered it in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He served as the Mahasabha's General Secretary from 1984 to 1994 and as its President from 1994 to 2003, overseeing the construction of numerous buildings, organizing Vishwakarma conferences and social events at the national level, enhancing the community's prestige and establishing a new identity. Today, members of the community are proud to call themselves Vishwakarma.
During this campaign, you faced numerous crises and financial difficulties, but you never gave up. You never let your dream of uniting the entire Vishwakarma community fade away. You continued your continuous efforts to unify society. Through Jawaharvani Samachar, you vocally raised social issues and social evils. Jawaharvani Samachar, in a way, became a social media outlet, featuring prominent news stories. You had to undertake extensive journeys to realize your efforts to unite the Vishwakarma community. During your travels to various states, you continued your efforts to organize all segments of the Vishwakarma community. To give concrete shape to this effort, in 2000, you formed and registered the All India Vishwakarma Virat Sangh, bringing together active and enlightened members of the community. You held the position of the first President of the Virat Sangh and held this position unopposed for almost 18 years until the end. In 2018, you left us all and departed this mortal body! The Vishwakarma community will forever be indebted to you! To fill the void left by your sudden demise, we must all come together and continue our efforts to unite the community by following the ideals of the late Shri Rameshwar Soni.

Currently, countless organizations of the Vishwakarma community exist in the country, but most of them are either limited to paper, operate at the regional level, or are confined to individuals, where the executive committee and ordinary members are deprived of their rights, and decisions are made by one or two individuals. This is diminishing public attachment and trust in these organizations, and their credibility is declining. Such organizations are merely a show and limited to paper. The primary objective of the All India Vishwakarma Virat Sangh is to organize the Vishwakarma community, promote mutual cooperation and brotherhood, and strive to eradicate social evils. The aim is to instill public trust in the organization by operating it transparently, in accordance with the rules and regulations, and by consensus or majority decision of the members. Considering the current circumstances, the following priorities have been set for the first phase of the All India Vishwakarma Virat Sangh.
- To strengthen the organization, more and more youth have to be associated with the organization and they have to be given maximum representation at the state level, division level and district level.
- Establish coaching centers in major cities to train young men and women for competitive examinations. Employ honorary or paid trainers, arrange funding, and appeal to the enlightened and wealthy for their support.
- To promote mass marriages and introduction conferences by bringing together eligible young men and women from all sections of the Vishwakarma community (Manu, Maya, Tvashtha, Shilpi, Devgya) so that they can choose suitable partners and avoid unnecessary wedding expenses.
- To encourage those members of the society who are actively participating in politics and to cooperate as much as possible in their publicity.
- To bring awareness in the society by publishing newspapers and magazines and to make people aware about the evils.
- To provide information about the beneficial government schemes run by the Central and State Governments to the people of remote areas or rural areas through the organization and to help them in availing the benefits.
- Assistance in obtaining ration card, Aadhar card, voter card, old age pension, OBC certificate etc.
- To make efforts to establish Artisan Development Corporation at the central and state levels and to take action to ensure the sale of finished goods and to make efforts to appoint a Vishwakarma descendant to the post of Artisan Development Corporation.
- To make efforts to appoint Vishwakarmas in Rajya Sabha, Legislative Council, local bodies, Governor, Ambassadors and other constitutional posts in proportion to their population.
- To ensure the participation of Vishwakarmas in traditional businesses, construction work and government contracts and to ensure the sale of finished goods.
- To make efforts to get free land allotment and interest free loan from the allotment agency to Vishwakarmas for home industries and workshops etc.
- Wherever the government or the corporate sector acquires land, efforts should be made to implement schemes to compensate farmers and also to rehabilitate the Vishwakarmas whose livelihood is also linked to the same land.
- To make efforts to get Vishwakarma Day, September 17, declared as a gazetted holiday by all the states and the Central Government.
